Services

The VAWA Grant Team provides a variety of services to help prevent sexual assault, relationship violence, sexual harassment, stalking, and cyberstalking from occurring, as well as to support people who may have experienced or know someone who may have experienced these types of violence. Services include:

• Counseling and advocacy from the Women's Center at Virginia Tech.
• Options to hold the perpetrator accountable through the Office of Judicial Affairs.
• Law enforcement response through the Virginia Tech Police Department.
• Educational presentations and programming on sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and cyberstalking for academic groups, residence halls, and other student groups.
• Training on sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and cyberstalking for orientation leaders, university judicial bodies, law enforcement, allied professionals, faculty and staff, and student leaders.
• Awareness efforts throughout the year, including highlight programming during Sexual Violence Awareness Month in October and Women's Month in March.
• Brochures and informational guides available in hard copy and to download, as well as statistics available for report writing and general information.
• SAVES (Sexual Assault and Violence Education by Students), a student group trained by the Women's Center to provide presentations and peer education on sexual assault, relationship violene, stalking, and cyberstalking.
